NFL Update Week 12 & 13

This week was a very exciting week in football not only professional but in college as well. Starting off in NCAA both Michigan and State lost embarrassing losses to Ohio State and Penn State. And, the second best team, Texas Tech, fell to Oklahoma 65-21. Now on to the pros, Detroit starting out on top 17-0 over Tampa Bay lost once again this time 38-20 now the fall to a horrible o-11. New England and Miami met for the second time this season and since the Patriots lost the first time pretty badly they were prepared for everything the dolphins could throw at them. The Patriots advance to 7-4 with a 48-28 win over the dolphins. Denver lost to the Raiders 31-10 after beating them 41-14 in the first week. On Monday night the Pack met up with the New Orleans Saints a game the probably should have been a close game with the two offense being as good as they are and the Packers powerhouse defense. The game in fact wasn't close it was a shootout back and forth for the first half but ended in a score 51-29 the Saints. Perhaps the best game in the NFL this week was the undefeated Titans against the New York Jets, with Brett Farve of course. The Jets were ahead the whole game and ended up winning 34-13 due to their running all over the Titans defense the whole day. I doubt next week will be as action packed as this week was but we will have to wait and see. I will definitely be watching the Lions versus the Titans on Thanksgiving but not because its supposed to be a good game ill probably end up rooting for the Titans anyway. Some games that might also be worth watching are Arizona against Philly, Carolina and Green Bay, San Fransisco versus Buffalo, and New Orleans against Tampa Bay. So, I'm looking forward to another week of football, and eating as well. Happy Thanksgiving!

NFL Update Week 7 & 8

Last week in football was not very surprising some what bland in a way but still like all weeks not everything goes as planned. The biggest upset of the week was definitely the St. Louis and Dallas game. Of course everyone knows that St. Louis is horrible they've only won one game against Washington, which was a big upset too, theres no way they can beat the talented Dallas cowboys right? Not exactly, not when Tony Romo is out with a broken finger and Steven Jackson rushes for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns. The rams are supposed to be horrible they were last year, but watch out they're on a two game winning streak and it seems like they finally maybe in a rhythm as they dominated the cowboys 34-14. I'd like to talk about Tennessee for a second who over the years hasn't had much recognition even though their defense is truly beast, best in the league in my eyes and now they destroy the Chiefs 34-10. I know that may not be very impressive because the Chiefs aren't necessarily "Good" but still the Titans trampled them and are the only undefeated team left in the league. I can see them going very far into the playoffs if they don't win it all in the Superbowl. Now on to week 8, which i don't think is going to be too exciting but hey what are you gonna do, the game i would recommend u watch is the London game. I don't recommend it just because of where its being played but also because of the match up, San Diego against New Orleans two good teams battling it up in another country whats not to love about that. The last thing i would like to say is go Stevenson as my high school battles it up against Churchill, our cross town rivals.

NFL Update Week 5 & 6

Another week of football is down the drains and this week there wasn't to much that surprised me. One of the few upsets of the week was Miami taking down San Diego 17-10, Miami coming off an almost no win season last has really came to play in these last couple weeks showing what Dolphins football really is. There were a few come from behind wins in the fourth quarter that otherwise would have been pretty big upsets, the Atlanta Falcons against Green Bay was close to being one of these games. Instead, the Falcons came out and surprised everyone by beating the Pack 27-24, the two teams combined to score 24 points in the fourth quarter. Perhaps in my opinion the best game of the week was on Monday Night Football where the New Orleans Saints were hosting the Minnesota Vikings. The game was somewhat ridiculous everything that could have happened did from Antoine Winfield catching a blocked Field Goal and taking it back for six to Reggie Bush returning two punts for touchdowns and combining for close to 300 all purpose yards. The whole game was back and forth between the two teams and ending in a Vikings 30-27 win over the Saints. This is the recap of what happened during the game. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap?game_id=29602&displayPage=tab_recap&season=2008&week=REG5. In Week 6 coming up once again the Lions are going to lose especially to the Vikings I'm predicting that Adrian Peterson is going to run all over their defense up and down the field. Other than that game i don't think theres going to be very many blowouts this week, which is good id much rather watch a close game then a blowout any day that's one reason why the Super Bowl is so entertaining teams don't usually get blown out when they're the best in their conference. It happens its just not usual. I think I'm gonna be watching the Dallas and Arizona game I'm expecting it to be a close forth quarter win maybe even in overtime. Any way you look at it this is going to be a great week of football and I'm looking forward to watching it.

NFL Update Week 4 & 5

Last week in Pro Football was week 4 and it was a weird week of football. There were a lot of upset games this week, games that should have gone the other way but didn't. For example the Denver and Kansas City game Denver most was supposed to blow them out of the stadium seeing as they were 3-0 and the Chief's were 0-3, but instead it was the other way around, Denver was behind the whole game and ended up losing 33-19. Another pretty big upset last week was Tampa coming back in the forth quarter to win it all 30-21 over Green Bay i doubt many people would have called that score. Lastly, perhaps the best upset last week was the Dallas and Washington game which is always a great game due to their long NFC rivalry. Dallas was supposed to have the best talent in the league and perhaps they do but the final score of the game was Washington 26 Dallas 24. Next week is gonna be another week for football and I'm predicting that there's going to be a lot of close games, probably even a lot that have to go in to over time. The only two games I'm pretty sure of are of course the Chicago Bears over the Detroit Lions and Dallas over Cincinnati, Dallas coming off a tough lose will be ready to get out there and so everybody exactly how Dallas plays football. The Bears no doubt have a good chance at beating the no win lions with the defense they have and their rookie running back Matt Forte i wouldn't be surprised if they blew them out. So in conclusion i think that week 5 there's not going to be as many upsets but their are going to be a lot of close ones I'm looking forward to another great week of football as should we all.

NFL Update

To me the ranks in the NFL are all wrong. I mean every week u see a top 5 rated team falling to someone in the mid twenties and i don't think its all because of just a huge upset. David and Goliath upsets don't happen very often, so in my eyes the ranks are all messed up. The Lions of course are the worst team in the league but they're the only rank that i consider correct. This year is a wierd year in football were seeing the broncos 3-0 for the first time in about 5 years. The bills as well are 3-0 and are looking at a good chance at getting in the playoffs. I don't think I've ever seen that in my life time, and as far as the Broncos go, they were good in the past but they haven't done this good in like i said many years. The San Diego Chargers started out 0-2 thats a news flash for them they were supposed to be the powerhouse of football with Phillip Rivers as their quaterback and L.T. lined up behind him. Their special teams is no walk in the park for their opponents with Darren Sproles back deep returning kicks back. Even their defense is beastly, i mean i know their missing Shawn Merriman but they still have Antonio Cromartie and Quentin Jammer in their secondary. So it seems like this team would be the best team in the league right? Thats the way they were rated but they fell twice in a row the first time was to an underated Carolina Panthers team in the final seconds of regulation, and in the second week they lost to the Broncos in a nail biter that they lost because of a bad call by the refferie. But no more yesturday it was Monday Night Football and the Chargers were against Brett Farve and the Jets it started out bad for the Chargers when Rivers threw a pick six to David Barrett of the Jets but after that San Diego really came alive to win the game 48-29. Maybe this is a new start for the San Diego Chargers. Whos to say they can take it all the way to the Super Bowl the Giants did. All i know is that they have the talent they we'll just have to wait and see.
